Since we first met years ago, I've admired Megan's wit, kindness and the resolute determination with which she pursues her goals. Wise beyond her years, she's a trusted friend I turn to when I need advice on life's toughest problems.
We don't get to see one another often, but we always pick up right where we left off every time we do. I paired my latest visit to see Megan with multiple portrait sessions, and she gamely joined for every one (even with a crazy bruised foot!). She caught ears, carried treats and noisemakers, adjusted outfits, held ponies and beyond; Megan was the secret weapon that made each and every session go smoothly.
I was so excited, then, to also capture Megan with her own special teammate and celebrate her current stage in her riding career. Forty is an off-the-track Thoroughbred and just the sweetest youngster. Megan just lights up when she talks about him, and Forty certainly reciprocates the love.
Owning or leasing a horse as a 20-something is not easy, and Megan's worked tirelessly to make those riding dreams a reality; time with Forty is a sweet reward for all her efforts and sacrifices. A friend like Megan--one who cheers on dreams and is there through thick and thin--is hard to find, and not something I take for granted. I'm so proud to see her living out her dream, and I know what lies ahead of her will be even greater.
